Administering Microsoft Teams for School

Microsoft Teams has become a widespread and useful tool in schools in recent years, and when Teams for subjects, classes and schools are to be administered in a solution, a good structure is required. DNI delivers the solution DNI Teams Administration for schools based on School Data Sync (SDS), which is a recommended setup for schools.

With DNI Teams SDS, you will achieve fully automated administration of Microsoft Teams with setup of, for example, naming rules, structure for how to maintain users in Teams, setup of parent information for sending weekly summaries.

There are many things to consider when using Microsoft Teams at school. Security is important and students should meet the same people on Teams as they do on a regular day at school and no outsiders should be able to add a student to Teams. It is also important that students are not able to create teams themselves, this increases security, reduces unwanted behavior and the sharing of unwanted content.

DNI Teams SDS is operated in a WEB interface where you define the Team structure based on information about school, class and subject obtained from a source system. DNI Teams Admin then automatically creates all CSV files and sends these to SDS. In the same way as for employees in DNI Teams Admin, students are automatically moved to the correct Teams if there are changes in subjects or a change of class or school. The solution synchronizes with Microsoft SDS once a day.

For school owners, it is reassuring that all students and teachers are members of the right teams and that schools can use Teams effectively in a controlled and safe learning environment.
