Asker municipality has gained control over the Teams anarchy
Microsoft Teams is a popular solution and with the pandemic its popularity increased. Today, most schools and organizations have adopted the solution. Microsoft Teams is a fantastic collaboration tool, but without good control and administration, you get little insight into content and a confusing structure.
DNI currently delivers two different solutions for managing Microsoft Teams:
DNI Teams Admin which provides options to control which teams are created, naming standards and who will be members. The solution can be customized as needed.
DNI Teams School Data Sync, which is a recommended setup for schools that provides access to all features in Microsoft Teams for School.
Many DNI customers today use our solutions to gain control over Teams anarchy, including Asker Municipality.
Eliminates manual maintenance of Microsoft Teams
When Asker Municipality was going to introduce Microsoft Teams, it was natural to choose DNI, with whom they already had an established customer relationship. Their need was a solution for automatically creating department teams based on which department the employees belonged to and for each team to be linked to the case/archive system.
The solution for Asker Municipality was DNI Teams Admin, which creates teams for all departments based on organizational charts and is operated from a WEB interface where the structure of Teams is defined and maintained. This includes, among other things, naming rules, creation and termination of Teams, and that membership for all users is automatically maintained. When hired, you automatically become a member of the correct Teams groups, and if an employee changes roles within the organization, the employee is automatically moved to the correct Teams. The solution also includes a function where managers can override membership and sign temporary consultants and temporary workers in and out of the teams. In collaboration with Asker Municipality, DNI developed a new function so that Teams can be linked with the case/archive system.
“The solution works well and saves us a lot of manual maintenance,” says Geir-Arne Lindsholm, ICT advisor at Asker Municipality.
With DNI Teams Admin, Asker Municipality now has control over who is a member of the different teams and eliminates the manual maintenance of Microsoft Teams.
