Horten Municipality’s strategy is primarily to use good solutions in the cloud where this provides clear improvements. An example of this is the evaluation of the on-prem solution Life Cycle Server against the cloud version DNI Cloud Platform. One argument they particularly valued was the opportunity to use their own resources to set up and operate the solution. They have used DNI as a sparring partner and set up their solution on their own.

DNI’s new IDM solution, which runs on the DNI Cloud Platform, automates all the different tasks that IT has to do when new employees start, change roles or leave. Information about employees and students is retrieved from data sources and all users and groups in Active Directory or Azure AD are updated and correct at all times. Since the solutions are based on microservices architecture, all services run completely isolated from each other. This provides increased security, less complexity and greater flexibility.

DNI Cloud Platform is used by many, but so far Horten Municipality is the only one that has set up and configured the solution on its own.

Quick and easy to set up integrations between different services

DNI Cloud Platform not only handles identity management, but all the integrations between different services a business needs. Such as data exchange between third-party solutions, deployment and administration of Microsoft Teams, password reset with ID-porten, and management of access rights for external consultants and temporary workers.

Among other things, Horten Municipality has set up a separate solution specifically for politicians to provide access and rights to people who are not employed by the municipality.
